Scott-Pien Picard, born in Sept-Îles, is an Innu songwriter from the Uashat Mak Maliotenam community. He writes his songs in Innu, his first language. It was around the age of six that he started to play music and began to perform in shows in his community. His passion for music began in his youth, inspired by the bands Maten and Kashtin. He was part of APTN’s Le Rythme distribution in 2015, directed by Samian, and has performed in the past few editions of Nikamun Mamutin (Gathering Songs), a concert that brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous musicians. Scott-Pien Picard is active in the Indigenous music scene and performs in several Indigenous communities in Quebec. Recently crowned “Talent Bleu” by popular vote on the show La semaine des 4 Julie, Scott-Pien Picard is currently working on his second album. The Innu artist delivers an entertaining folk show and invites audiences to discover the richness of his culture.
