Jerry Sereda is an Indigenous country singer who was born and raised in the Parkland region of Manitoba. He grew up working on the farm, fishing in the summer and trapping on a registered trapline in the winter. Sereda’s passion for music stemmed from his musical childhood. Throughout his career, his grandmother remained one of his biggest supporters, teaching Sereda his first guitar chords at a young age.
Sereda released two albums that landed multiple #1 songs on the Indigenous Music Countdown and received multiple nominations and awards at the Indigenous Music Awards and the Western Canadian Music Awards. Sereda then moved to Edmonton to continue writing and recording with fellow songwriter Troy Kokol. Sereda and Kokol released Sereda’s third project Don’t Mind if I Do in September 2019. Sereda’s fourth studio album, Classic Country Couple, was created with an all-Indigenous team and will be released on June 21, 2021.
