Alan Syliboy & The Thundermakers
Located on the outskirts of Truro, N.S., resides the Millbrook First Nation community where Alan Syliboy was born and raised. After decades of creation in many places, painter, illustrator, film animator and musician Alan Syliboy presents his project Alan Syliboy & The Thundermakers. Alan Syliboy & The Thundermakers consist of a large group of musicians from many horizons. Together with his band The Thundermakers, he weaves together storytelling, spoken word, improvisation, dance, and multimedia art to create a deep, immersive performance.
The Mi’kmaw artist has built an ever-growing list of accomplishments throughout his lifetime. An acclaimed artist and storyteller, Alan Syliboy’s vibrant art pieces are inspired by the Indigenous petroglyphs of Nova Scotia. Syliboy is proud to share his Mi’kmaq heritage and culture with the world.
